Over the years Chief Architect has changed the way many designers and contractors operate their business. At ChiefExperts.com it’s been my mission to help people understand how.
Could you please do me a favor? Respond below and tell me how Chief Architect and my training and advice have helped you.
Here’s a little background info – In 1993 I purchased a copy of Chief Architect V1. I was the 94th person to buy the program. After installing the 2 discs on my computer I was immediately impressed with how easy it was to draw a set of plans for a project. From that moment I was hooked on this new CAD program called Chief Architect. Has this happened to you?
Since then I’ve had the pleasure of being a beta tester, dealer and trainer for Chief Architect and have drawn thousands of plans for contractors and homeowners. But the thing that has brought me the most satisfaction during this time has been meeting, training and helping thousands of contractors, designers and Architects discover how Chief Architect can make a difference in the way they do business.
It’s amazing how fast 17 years have passed and I’m looking forward to many more years of helping businesses in the building industry learn how to turn their design efforts into a profit center.
In the years to come programs like Chief Architect will continue to make a difference in how everyone communicates with customers, employees, subs and suppliers. And I will continue to make it my mission to bring you information and training that will help you not only save money but make more money.
As the economy strengthens (and it is) those that have taken the steps needed to embrace and learn how to integrate technology into their businesses will be ready to take the lead.
If you could share your ideas, thoughts and experiences about how Chief has helped in your business I would REALLY appreciate it.

Just wondering how y’all manage without the facility to graw an unsquare room. We have been unable to crack this conundrum when remodelling bathrooms using CA, and so far, we havn’t found a room where opposite walls are exactly the same length!
Should have added — I took Dan’s training in CA back on Ver 10, and have attended a number of his webinars on how to use Chief more effectively since (now on X3). I honestly wouldn’t be 1/2 as proficient as I am had it not been for Dan’s insights. If you want to get the most out of Chief, there’s no better trainer than Dan Baumann.
Sincerely,

We are residential remodelers. We charge for design, something Dan’s comments helped concretize for us. All of the 15 Reasons for doing top-notch plans are true, but there’s at least one missing — You’ll sell more projects. When we show prospective clients how we can give them a 3D view of their project and eliminate the “what am I really getting” worry, they WANT it. This has honestly helped us close more business than anything else we could do in the sales process.
So, has using CA helped our business AND our clients? ABSOLUTELY!

Besides being able to draw great looking plans and details as a result of Dan’s Chief Architect coaching, I have started producing short construction videos for my website.
CA is great because I can quickly draw a detail that adds to the story telling process. I also use a series of renders with sequentially added layers that enables me to mimick the construction progression. These renders and details become the main part of the story that keep these videos interesting.
I can really say that my involvement with CA has helped my construction business marketing more than any thing else I can think of.

I picked up a great job yesterday a total renovation. Joining ChiefExperts.com was the best thing I have done, to learn the program. I did the drawings 9 pages for a fee and the Owner never even got bids on it.. All of the 15 reasons in your article apply. I started out by hand in the 1980′s my first version was “95″ I am now using “X3″. While using “X2″ I joined ChiefExperts.com.
The training and tricks have saved me enough time that my investment was easily paid off. Have spoken to Dan twice and got the info I needed. If I compete with you don’t join, everyone else join today. PS most of my local building inspectors love my drawings.
Thank You
I am a contractor and most of my projects are remodeling and additions. The building permits require working drawings as part of the submittal process. Chief has been invaluable in preparing the plans and Dan at ChiefExperts.com training has helped me stream line the process. By using Chief and generating the plans myself I save both time and money as well as adding another service to offer my clients. This also gives me more control over the whole process. I can design the project to the way I build.
I’ve been a member of ChiefExperts.com for about four years and it has been worth every penny. Dan’s expertise and methods of teaching have a tremendous help and time saving. With what I have learned since becoming a member I have been producing better plans and a lot less time. Dan really knows this program!
The one thing for me is that I do not use the program on a regular basis and end up forgetting a lot of the little things and end up having to go back and watch the videos again which adds to the time it takes me to complete the drawings. I hope that Dan may have a solution to this.
I’ll be doing a Quick Start series that will be a very fast paced series that will cover a lot of how to really use Chief.
In 1993 as a budding entrepreneur and talented carpenter who loved to build I decided to start my own business and set out on a journey which I am still on to this day. Without Chief Architect & Dan’s help I would not be where I am today. Chief Architect has set me apart from the competition and made me a better builder. Knowing Dan is there to assist whenever I needed help is a great confidence booster. I have learned many things about Chief and construction from attending Dan’s classes. Dan is always there to help and clearly loves to teach. He truly is an expert in his field.
I feel fortunate to have a resource like ChiefExperts.com.
